Education Team Deliver Major STEAM Programme at W5 in Belfast

Over 120 school students blasted off on a space adventure at W5 with science shows, coding and Minecraft workshops as our education programme brings our solar system down to earth for thousands of young people.

The Our Place in Space education team have delivered an out of this world space education programme for schools across Northern Ireland in partnership with W5 and Microsoft Dream Space.

The fun filled day saw over 120 pupils from Lowwood Primary School in Belfast and Annahorish Primary School in Toomebridge visit W5 in Belfast for a space themed science show followed by space coding and Minecraft workshops.

"The Our Place in Space W5 takeover event provided pupils with hands-on learning around the topic of space, through the use of creative digital technologies, such as coding and Minecraft. This event was about promoting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) within the classroom, allowing pupils to get hands on with technology, whilst learning key areas of the Northern Ireland Curriculum. It is amazing to be working in collaboration with W5 and Microsoft's Dream Space Team, a working partnership which we are excited to develop."
