Mascott Construction appointed to help make Our Place in Space trail a reality

Ever wondered how many planets you can fit on the back of a lorry?

We intend to find out after appointing leading construction firm Mascott Construction to deliver the logistics and installation of the Our Space in Space sculpture trail at four sites across the UK.

The design of the sculptures has involved some unique engineering challenges, with Nerve Centre and Mascott working closely with Belfast-based design company Urban Scale Interventions and international art fabricators MDM Props in London, to realise the artist’s vision.

Mascott Construction will help bring the solar system down to earth, transporting the iconic new visitor attraction across the UK and providing specialist support and maintenance during installation and throughout each leg of the journey.

“As well as pushing the limits of creativity, Our Place in Space also presents logistical challenges in terms of transporting and installing sculptures in challenging locations across Northern Ireland and Cambridge. We’re pleased to be working with Mascott Construction to help manage the process and know that with their wealth of experience they will help the project in its aim of delivering a truly memorable experience.”

David Lewis, Executive Producer with Our Place in Space

“Mascott are delighted to be appointed as the logistics and delivery partner on this fantastic and truly unique project. We are looking forward to working closely with all the stakeholders’ and being an integral part of such an exciting, dynamic and diverse team, sharing a common goal to deliver a world class visitor experience for all.”
