Callout — Singers Required for Even You Song in Cambridge

We're seeking humans with singing experience to take part in our Even You Song, the final performance of a two-day celebration of Our Place in Space on Midsummer Common. Directed by Owain Park and Sam Hayes, join the choir on a journey into outer-space.

Even You Song is a large-scale performance involving professional and community choirs alongside exquisite organ music.

Devised by Lucy Sheerman and Bettina Furnee, and composed by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, it is a playful take on Evensong (the beautiful choral service that takes place in the early evening in churches and chapels around the city), through the perspective of taking a trip to the moon. In addition to space travel, the work explores themes of belonging and togetherness.

We need you!

If you have singing experience and would like to be part of the intergenerational choir singing in Even You Song please email: lucy.sheerman@gmail.com

What does it involve?

There will be a number of short early evening rehearsals in the week leading up to the performance – including Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 July between 5.30-7pm at Great Saint Mary's Church. On the day of the performance, Sunday 31 July, there will be a full rehearsal at an indoor venue at some time between 1pm – 4pm. The performance itself is at 5pm, and should be finished within an hour.
