We've put together an epic weekend of events on Midsummer Common and beyond to celebrate the final weekend of the solar system being in Cambridge from 27-29 August.
Join the Intellectual Forum at West Court, Jesus College on Saturday 27 August for a screening of the animated short film Here We Are, based on the award-winning book by Oliver Jeffers.
Why not take part in our Creative Challenge with NASA Astronaut Chris Hadfield and create a short video which has the chance of being shown at the screening...Videos, TikToks or Instagram reels, we want to see your submissions!
Get to grips with hands-on creative STEAM activities, guided tours of the trail by Hunt and Darton, live music by The Lightwaves and much more on Sunday 28 August.
Taking place on Midsummer Common, don't forget to bring a planetary picnic and your favourite space supplies to settle in for this family friendly event. We have something for big and little space explorers alike.
Join interstellar duo Hunt and Darton on Sunday 28 August for an afternoon of cosmic creating inspired by the Great British Bake off (no oven necessary!).
Prepare to be totally inspired as you go head-to-head to be crowned champion of the Great Planetary Make-Off. Tasked with designing a crazy new planet...where will your design take you?
Hop on your bike this bank holiday Monday 29 August and zoom from the Sun to Saturn on the final day the trail will be in Cambridge! Bring your wheels and momentum, meet at 6pm and go on a collective journey through our solar system. Don't forget to pack a cold drink for a goodbye toast to the trail when we arrive at Saturn.
Who knows what fun surprises will greet you along the way!
The Our Place in Space sculpture trail is open to the public in Cambridge until Monday 29 August...don't miss out!
